Until next time,

The John Croft Design Team.

In July, the John Croft Design team headed down to chilly Melbourne for the annual Décor and Design trade fair. It is always inspiring to immerse ourselves in the latest design trends and furniture items being launched. We enjoyed catching up with the wonderful agencies and suppliers that we regularly deal with, and meeting and discovering new companies with exciting products.  Funnily enough, our group of four was mistaken as a family design business once too often. We are either spending too much time together or need to change the style of our glasses! We all had a fabulous time away and enjoyed the delights of Melbourne.

We are thrilled to have one of our images included in an article on, discussing the use of animals as artwork or sculptures being used throughout the home.

Over the past couple of months, Nyria has been working on a major renovation of a contemporary office space for one of her existing clients. Here we show some before and after photos of the space to show how far it has come from demolition stage, through to the finishing touches of brick and copper wallpaper, and vertical gardens to create striking decorative elements throughout.

Noosa kitchen redesign before and after

Here comes another fantastic renovation success! Nyria has been working on this apartment renovation over the last few months up in Noosa, which has been a total top-to-toe transformation. What was a very basic and tired interior has gained a new lease on life, with crisp Hampton’s style cabinetry and mouldings throughout.

The colour palette has been kept soft and neutral with a stunning seaspray blue subway tile as the kitchen splashback, to give an injection of calming colour. The Butler’s sink and decorative lighting is still to be installed, but we can safely say that the hard work has certainly paid off, and what a difference it has already made. When can we move in?!

Warmer weather usually extolls the bells of at-home entertainment, so as we head into Spring, it’s time to get your house back into ship-shape condition! When sorting your linen cupboard, have you ever been confronted by that frustrating task of folding a fitted sheet? Well, we have the solution for you!

  • Lay the sheet down inside out so that the elastic is on the top.
  • Place index fingers of each hand into the inside corners (with the tidy seam up) on the narrow side of the sheet and stretch your hands out before bringing your fingers together at you chest and folding the right hand over the left to form a hood in the sheet.
  • Then run your free hand right and down the long side of the sheet, finger in the corner again and stretch your arms out wide before bringing your fingers together in front of your chest again.
  • Fold the right hand over the left one again and lie the sheet down on a firm surface. Fold the sheet and fold it in half again.
  • Your sheet should be neat and flat, like a standard folded sheet.
