John Croft Design e-Newsletter: Edition 7

It has been one year since our first e-newsletter launched and on this momentous occasion we’d like to take the opportunity to thank you for all the positivity we have received, and we hope you continue to enjoy keeping up with the ins and outs of our busy life at John Croft Design!

An unseasonably cold winter has had us daydreaming of sitting in front of a beautiful fireplace, but as our designers have just returned from a trip to Melbourne for the Décor & Design trade fair where they experienced the coldest weekend in 18 years – we can’t complain about our Queensland winter!

In this month’s edition we present our latest product and design installations, and we invite you to step into an Asian/fusion themed home, as designed by our featured staff member, Nyria King. And of course, we arm you with a deliciously hearty meal to impress your dinner guests.

Project Review

08-15 latest interior projects

John Croft Design presents our latest project, as seen in the winter edition of Queensland Homes Magazine.

A well-travelled couple’s collection of artworks and souvenirs provided a source of inspiration for designer, Nyria King, leading to a relaxed and welcoming Asian/fusion theme.

A home of generous proportions, this allowed Nyria to introduce bold colours in artful dashes, with softer touches to create an integrated dynamic.

The couple’s five adult offspring and their families regularly visit and so all soft furnishings and surfaces had to be hard-wearing and easy to clean and maintain. The result? A stylish and welcoming home that doesn’t compromise on functionality.

Décor and Design Melbourne 2015

08-15 decor and design melbourne

In late July, the John Croft Design team headed down to Melbourne for the annual Décor and Design trade fair. Showcasing the latest interior products and furnishings from leading companies, this premiere event provided our team with the opportunity to indulge in new styles and trends and to discover new upcoming industry players. All of our designers had a great time at the show, and even found the time to wine and dine at some fabulous restaurants before returning to Brisbane.

Staff profile – Nyria King

After completing her Bachelor of Interior Design at Griffith University – Queensland College of Art in 2004, Nyria managed a furniture and homewares store before joining the John Croft Team.

“From a young age I have been fascinated by beautiful colours and beautiful things. I have always been completely affected by my environment. By the age of 15, I decided I was going to be an interior designer.  I wanted to create beautiful homes for people to love, enjoy and feel comfortable in. It is so rewarding when a project is finished, seeing the clients excitement and full transformation from beginning to end.”
