This Living Room was originally cold and uninviting until Senior Interior Designer Lloyd Hodgkinson transformed it into a beautifully sophisticated space that truly reflected his clients’ South African heritage. To execute this look, the walls were wallpapered with grassweave-look wallpaper to add depth to the space. The large upholstered items were kept neutral while colour and interest were added through the use of scatter cushions, accessories and the client’s wonderful existing art collection. The whole space is underpinned by a beautiful hand-knotted rug in neutral tones. The room also features a study corner where Lloyd supplied a tortoise-shell finish desk chair to accompany his client’s antique leather-topped desk. Many of the clients existing African artifacts were also used to help create this dynamic look.
