Inner City Home – Bardon

VISION

The owners of this inner city abode engaged John Croft Design to freshen up the look of their new Bardon home. From paint colours, cabinetry and tiles, to furniture, window treatments and accessories, the John Croft Design team were tasked, by the homeowners, with making all of the important decisions. Whilst breathing new life into the home, the design team were required to marry a selection of treasured items with new pieces.

CONTEMPORARY INTERIOR DESIGN & DECORATING SCHEME

A combination of styles were melded together effortlessly, developing a characteristically unique contemporary interior design scheme that aligned with the homeowners’ spirited vision. Plush and modern soft furnishings in crisp neutrals and deep wooden furniture pieces were chosen to cement the vibrant hues that envelope the home. Perfect for home entertaining, the living and dining rooms were injected with copious amounts of colour, from lime green and bright blue, to fuchsia and orange. Heavily influenced by art, original pieces dot the walls, further reflecting the individuality of the home’s inhabitants whilst invoking a more classic feel within and amongst the contemporary styling.

Guiding visitors through the home with ease, the entryway leads through to the expansive kitchen, dining and seating areas. Boasting an open-plan configuration, the casual lounge area is separated from the surrounding spaces with a custom-made rug. Designed for the avid home entertainer, bi-fold doors open out to a mosaic-topped table, whilst charcoal stone floor tiles spill out onto the patio, fusing the indoor and outdoor spaces with ease. A stark contrast from the rest of the home, the formal lounge room packs a seriously regal punch. Evoking luxury and opulence, the space features plush lounges, gilded finishes, striped curtains in gold, charcoal and red, and custom-made cabinetry.

Imbued with a darker sensuality and more intimate feel, the bedrooms on the second level of the home feature richer finishes and cleaner colour palettes. The master bedroom is filled with deep wooden furnishings and crisp linen, championing the set of three beautiful artworks positioned above the bed as the focal point of the room. Soft curtains line the walls gently filtering the light to achieve a warm, restful feeling with a hint of sophistication.

RESULT

Combining a range of design styles in an eclectic manner, the John Croft Design team have created a home that is spirited and sophisticated in equal measure.
