Riverfront Apartment – New Farm

Moody Blue

With the assistance of designer Craig Rogerson, principle John Croft decorated a ground level riverfront condo with expansive exterior patio and gorgeous garden and river views. John had previously designed the suburban home of the client in a very classic style and the challenge with this modern pied-a-terre was to deliver a different look yet please the client’s classic aesthetic. Starting with a bold colour canvas, neutral case goods with a modern take on the classic were brought in. Next came the modern art and custom rugs all positioned in classic arrangements to satisfy the client who had some trepidations with a bold modern transition but came to love the final reveal. John Croft’s favourite space, the master bedroom, with its tufted espresso headboard and mirrored nightstands are the perfect examples of how classic opulence can be modernised with the right materials. For the outdoor entertaining area a classic grand dining table with seating for ten was specified but just around the corner a trailing wall sculpture leading the eye towards a set of colourful jars positioned above a modern cabinet subtly invites the modern element back into view.
